Ms. Loren Ashton is a Deaf counselor, licensed in both Arizona and Washington State. A Tucson, AZ native, she graduated from the University of Arizona with a BA degree in psychology. She then earned her MA degree in mental health counseling from Gallaudet University. During her 10 years of counseling experience, she has worked in community mental health, school counseling, hospitals, and private practice. She is experienced in working with children, teenagers, adults, and couples. Her approach to counseling is person-centered and solution-focused. Her main focus is on helping people heal from any challenges they may be facing. Depression, anxiety, grief and loss, body image concerns, healthy relationships, addiction, and personal identity are also primary topics she treats.
Loren creates a safe environment to help people realize their inner strength to make positive adjustments by developing self-love and self-trust. She addresses life transitions, relationship challenges, life stressors, boundaries, as well as provides various coping strategies. She firmly believes in personal empowerment which increases self-esteem and self-growth. Her two beliefs in counseling are: therapeutic rapport and confidentiality.
